Springville OBOB 2021-22 Bulletin Board

It's not too late, we have extended the deadline to Nov. 30! (Get yours in earlier if you can as we are processing them over Thanksgiving break.)

Registration is happening online. Click here for the 2021-22 Springville OBOB Registration Form.

Each team member must sign up with a parent/guardian. You will get confirmation when your team is officially signed up.

*You need to know your team captain's name or your team name when you submit the form so we know which team you belong to. If you still need a team and cannot find one yet, keep asking around to form a team. If you tried your best and can't find one, please still sign up and we will help you find a team.

-OBOB will be in-person in January and February during recess time. Two teams will battle in a classroom.

-Maximum duration of an OBOB battle is 15 minutes.

-No audience is allowed at battles.

-We are not allowed to have FLEX students join us. For 3rd grade: Team members have to be from the same class. For 4th and 5th grade: Team members have to be from the same grade (members from different classes permitted).

-4 team members is ideal. Minimum of 3 team members (much more challenging, slight disadvantage). Maximum of 5 team members - 1 person sits out during battles (sub).

-You do not have to read all 16 books. You have time to read and re-read your books until it's time to battle. Some battlers read 1 book only and some battlers read all. It's more fun when you read more books so you can answer more questions during battles.

*We will need a team of volunteers to hold battles during lunch recess. Please reach out to us if you are interested and we will provide training.

However, if you'd like to purchase all the books (or if you have your team together and want to split a full set), this is a bookstore (in Hood River, OR) that quickly shipped out our copies.

Powell's Books also offers this year's OBOB books for 20% off retail price.
